Bench made of an original wine barrel
The bench is built only from the front bottom of an old 10,000 l oak barrel, which we have cellared out of our customer’s wine cellar and which was covered with precious red wine for many years.
The staves were planed, straightened, adjusted to size and glued. The edges are chamfered.
The special seating comfort is due to the slightly downward seat and the sloping backrest.
Paired with the big wood thickness, an elegant and rustic piece of furniture is created at the same time.
After the sanding, the bench is finished with a varnish. For this purpose we use only ecological and sustainable varnishes.
Our carpenter Jenny paid attention to the ergonomically comfortable seat height and visually the golden cut.
In the case of our bench this means that the height and depth of the bench and the height of the backrest is 45 cm.
The exclusive corner bench invites you to spend beautiful, convivial hours with family and friends, or serves as an extraordinary meeting piont with your business partners.
Each bench is unique. We take your wishes and measurements into account during the realization.
Jennifer from Hassloch
-In the Eder team of carpenters -
Already at a young age Jennifer was enthusiastic about the material wood and completed her first school internships in carpentry workshops.
After school she started an apprenticeship as an office clerk, because at that time it was not usual for a woman to learn a craftmanship, according to our colleague.
However, she soon realized that the “office” was not quite what she wanted. She then continued her education as a media designer and attended art school until she was able to realize her dream – an apprenticeship as a carpenter in Kaiserslautern. The 33-year-old is a carpenter with heart and soul. She also has an eye for everything “beautiful” and processes our barrels, and all the parts from them, into small art objects.
Jennifer makes high quality barrel furniture from old barrels and all parts of them, such as tables, counters, benches, chair and shelves. There are no limits to your imagination, we at the Wilhelm Eder Cooperage are also happy to realize your individual wishes.
We are very happy that Jenny, as she is called casually by her colleagues, has been with Team Eder for about 4 years and is not only an enrichment for the company in terms of craftsmanship but also as a human
See you,
